Halloween a Book 2016

By Zara D. Garcia-Alvarez / @ZaraAlexis / @zaralibrary

Thanks to the ingenuity of the folks at Penguin Random House of Canada on Twitter, I was successfully coerced into creating new book titles with a Halloween theme—all for a prize, of course! (Those folks at PRHC sure known how to bribe its followers!)

And so, here’s what I came up with for #HalloweenABook:

And after all was said and done, I was lucky enough for Penguin Random House Canada to indeed notice my Halloween-inspired tweets, which granted me one of their highly coveted prizes:

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (movie tie-in edition) by Ransom Riggs.

And because it’s officially Halloween today, I’m living out my #vintage fantasy of dressing up as a flapper, “a young woman in the 1920’s who behaved and dressed in a boldly unconventional manner,” which sounds exactly like me…except in the 1920s!

While you can’t see it here in this photo, I do have a feather in my hair and am wearing a flapper dress! Me for Halloween 2016.

Do you participate in Halloween by dressing up in costume? If so, what are you wearing this year?

If you no longer dress up for Halloween, but have children, what will they be wearing as costumes today?

How would you “Halloween a Book?”
